Sharing Shakespeare with Nia Lynn

True is it that we have seen better days,
And sat at good men’s feasts, and wip’d our eyes
Of drops that sacred pity hath engend’red;
And therefore sit you down in gentleness
And take upon command what help we have
That to your wanting may be minst’red.
— As You Like It Act 2, scene 7

Nia’s career has taken her to the Donmar Warehouse and Young Vic. She is currently resident voice coach at the RSC. She has worked in several national conservatoires  including RAM, Guildhall, Musical Theatre Academy, Trinity and Central.  Nia has been a Jazz singing tutor at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama since 2005.

Nia is also one of UK’s preeminent singer songwriters, having released two successful albums with 33Jazz Records.

This session will particularly focus on her interest in the theatrical process and its connection with the voice. She is a keen educationalist with a passion to integrate the singing and speaking voice into the theatrical process.

Nia and Jamie met working together on Peter Pan and Wendy at the RSC. They will use this session to discuss Shakespeare’s Sounds and the actors’ voice.

We hope you will join us for this thrilling session which, although free, welcomes donations which will directly contribute to our future programme.

Booking is essential to participate in the live session.
